The practice managers are involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide:
- High quality patient care
- Human resources
- Patient safety
- Premises and equipment
- Information technology
They support the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Both are experienced practice managers, having worked in primary care for a number of years, and are working closely with all staff to ensure that the surgery evolves and adapts to the changing face of the NHS.
Practice managers support the partners and oversees the day to day running of the surgery, staffing issues including recruitment and coordinates patient participation group surveys and feedback including review of complaints. They also oversee the surgery’s policies and procedures and attend locality meetings.
She is supported in her administrative role by Jackie Connolly and duty manager Susan Zand.
Receptionists will assist you in making routine and emergency appointments to see a doctor or another member of the healthcare team, undertake repeat prescriptions, answer any queries or questions that you may have and offer any assistance that they are able to. They are not trained to provide clinical advice.
Some periods during the day, particularly Monday morning, are extremely busy and they may not be able to answer the telephone immediately and we would encourage you to use the patient access on-line booking service whenever possible to make or cancel appointments and to check results on-line where GP comments are seen.
It is a legal requirement that confidentiality of patients’ records is maintained at the highest level by all staff.
Lesley and Jackie make up our secretarial team and are responsible for typing letters and arranging patient referrals.
Clinicians will make referrals to both NHS and private secondary care services.
Please inform the referring clinician of any preferences when being referred to local services. Urgent and private referrals are emailed directly to the hospital specialist.
